With our new, patent pending technology we managed to successfully include a considerable amount of water and a substantial portion of hyaluronic acid into our formula for the first time. Water is crucial as hyaluronic acid needs to be dispersed in water to unfold its full potential. In addition to that, our new formula is enriched with glycerin. Glycerin and hyaluronic acid penetrate deep into the skin’s epidermis, providing an immediate, significant moisturizing effect that lasts for up to 24 hours. While lip care sticks like our classic Labello lip balm provide intensive care thanks to their rich texture, this new technology not only protects the lips from drying out but also brings moisture into deep layers of the lip’s skin as well as supports the skin barrier. And all this in a light, non-sticky, dewy texture. 

Thanks to the new formula technology, we also achieved a unique easy-gliding sensation. When applying the stick onto warm lips, the moisturizing components glycerin and hyaluronic acid are released from the formula and get quickly absorbed. Only a thin caring film remains on the lips to protect them from drying out without compromising an ultra-light lip feeling.  

The molecular structure of hyaluronic acid is responsible for its water binding capacity and consequently for holding water in the skin. It was crucial for us to include the low molecular-weight hyaluronic acid because in-vitro studies show that this ingredient quality penetrates deeply into epidermal skin layers and activates skin’s own hyaluronic acid synthesis – which keeps the lips hydrated, firm, and plump.   

We always choose our ingredients very carefully. Our formula is vegan, mineral oil free and formulated with 99% naturally derived ingredients. Beyond glycerin, water, and hyaluronic acid we included a mixture of oils and waxes such as sweet almond oil, castor oil, and coconut oil. This trio is accompanied by shea butter to provide an additional nourishing effect. The shea butter we use is ethically sourced and supports women in West Africa.
